i have yet to get a grip of
this blog thing
for instance how come there
are 2 different blogs of mine
and how to blend the two.
in hebrew we say ניחא
neicha which i think might
be related to the prerenial
nu , meaning no big deal
it'll come
in any event waiting in line
this morning at the local kupat cholim
(health clinic)
encountered two rather grumpy -
that describes most accurately
their disposition - elderly
russian women.
both were adamant that
they were next in line...
after a short discourse with the
second sorting out the difference
between 10 t0 10
and 10 after 10 (in hebrew)
i randomly opened up
seamus heanys' "finders keepers"
at p164; my eyes focusing on the following lines :
"perhaps being old is having lighted rooms
inside your head, and people in them, acting".
leafing through the previous pages
of the chapter entitled "the main of light"
realized the lines were philip larkins'.
heaney quotes from shakespeares'
sonnet 60 at the beginning of the chapter
"like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore
so do our minutes hasten to their end;"
to get back to larkins' lines,
at the time those lines seemed to me
to be at odds with the ladies' dispositions
i judge\d them not. the rain the desert and
being transplanted as they are where they are .
later i thought : what do you know ?
maybe you were the actor
in their lighted room inside their heads.
